Flood Expo 2017 Update

The Environment Agency is supporting the Flood Expo again this year, and after the successes of last year, they have committed to being more involved than ever before.

Although we cannot reveal that finer details of what they have in store for this year’s event, I can reveal that you can expect more must-attend seminars on the most pressing topics, more essential advice and support, and a shed-load of the latest flood prevention and management equipment used by the EA.

Some of this heavy-duty equipment will be demoed live at the show on the bank of the River Thames!

They will be joined by other exhibitors taking advantage of the show’s Thames-side location to showcase the most cutting-edge products to the crowds of flood, drainage, and resilience professionals in attendance.

Visitors will discover first-hand the reliability and functionality of Vikoma’s latest flood barriers, while ADC East Anglia Ltd’s will grab attention with their collection of tankers in and amphibious vehicles in action. In fact, throughout the both day boat displays, pump demos, and other equipment will be on show.

This year’s show has a huge focus on mitigation, resilience, and rescue. To celebrate this, I can announce that the Flood Expo will give out a Resilience Award, a Mitigation Award, and an Innovation Award. If you would like to be considered as a finalist for an award, make sure you contact me as soon as possible.

In recent weeks, we’ve seen an influx of high profile decision makers from large organisations registering for tickets including those from major international airports, councils, rail networks, large construction companies, land and property owners, and more.

This increase has been aided by the rapid growth of the neighbouring Marine & Coastal Civil Engineering Expo, which is set to break record exhibitor and visitor numbers. The relationship between the two shows has furthered the enthusiasm for the show with delegates from coastal councils, construction companies with projects located nears and the coast, and more.
